The World Chess League is a friendly but competitive chess tournament. We are not afiliated to any "official" chess body.

 

The format is a little different from most chess competitions: each competitor plays a match - comprising three games of chess - against all the others during the season. After the league competition is finished, there is also a knockout tournament featuring all players, wherever they finished in the league. At the end of the full season, there is a badge of honour for the winner and the runner-up in each competition.

 

Once the matches are underway, there will be updates on Facebook, and all the match scores and the league table will appear on this website within hourse of confirmed results. Members and non-members alike will be able to watch the games live online. We believe this is the only chess league of its kind in the world!

 

Anyone may apply to join, but there will be a maximum of 12 competitors in the first season.. All our games are played on the lichess.org website, so sign up for an account there today for free, and then send us a message to enquire about joining!
